Pi Day is happening again in Santa Barbara in 2017 on March 14th (3.14) and was co-created in 2016 by and Mister-Numbers and friend Ruth in partnership with the Santa Barbara downtown library. The goal was to give kids (of all ages) a positive experience with numbers. We didn't know if 5 people would show up, but over 314 showed up and got pie (we gave out 380 pies, thanks to a donation by Walmart). Everybody seemed to have a great time with the 3D Printer and LEGO Robotics. MisterNumbers had Number Wheels to hop around doing Addition and Multiplication, a TicTacToe Times Table booth, Creating Squares, Calendar Math, and Experiencing Pi activities. There were also 14 other table experiences that were awesome and a dozen great presentations (two by MisterNumbers)and a Reciting Digits of Pi contest (The winner recited Pi to an incredible 280 digits). It hopes to be bigger and better in 2017 carried on by the Santa Barbara library with MisterNumbers being a volunteer this year.
